CBG is sometimes called the mother cannabinoid, because the others are built from its acid form. It does not get you high, and one early human study saw it ease situational anxiety, a promising first signal rather than a settled fact. Most of its larger reputation still lives in mice.

A single 20 mg dose reduced self-reported anxiety (and, early, stress) versus placebo, with no intoxication.
