Terms of Service
Terpenology is a product of Short Point Five LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our"). Our mission is to provide cannabis intelligence tools for medical patients and wellness-focused users.

By accessing or using Terpenology (available at terpenology.app or as an installed PWA), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the agreement between you and Short Point Five LLC for your use of Terpenology, including any paid Terpenology+ subscription described in Section 8.
You must be at least 21 years of age to use Terpenology, or at least 18 years of age and meet all eligibility requirements for Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Program as a registered patient. If claiming eligibility as a medical patient, you represent and warrant that you: (a) are a resident of Pennsylvania as defined by the Medical Marijuana Program (providing either a current Pennsylvania government-issued identification reflecting your physical address, or two alternative proofs of Pennsylvania residency as specified by the Department of Health), and (b) maintain a bona fide relationship with a healthcare provider registered with the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program, as defined by 28 Pa. Code § 1171.1 (having either a provider-patient relationship of at least one year, at least four qualifying visits with the provider, or comprehensive medical assessment specifically for your qualifying condition). Terpenology is intended for use primarily by Pennsylvania residents enrolled in the Medical Marijuana Program, though features may be accessed while temporarily outside Pennsylvania provided you maintain program eligibility.
Terpenology is intended for use only where cannabis is legal under applicable state or local law. It is your responsibility to know and comply with the laws in your area.
Terpenology is an informational tool only. Nothing in this app, including strain scores, terpene analyses, effect predictions, community notes, or any output generated by the in-app AI companion (Aria, Jeff, Kira, or any future persona), constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your health, medications, or cannabis use. Do not disregard professional medical advice based on anything you read or any conversation you have inside this app. The AI companion is designed to inform and accompany, not to diagnose or prescribe, and it will redirect clinical questions to your dispensary pharmacist.
Terpenology uses a personal health profile to personalize your experience. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You may not share your account with others or use the app on behalf of another person without their consent.

Terpenology includes a shared community strain database where users may contribute notes and ratings. By submitting content, you grant Short Point Five LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and aggregate that content to improve the app and its data.
We reserve the right to remove any community content that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be inaccurate, harmful, or in violation of these Terms.
Terpenology offers a free tier and a paid subscription called Terpenology+. The free tier includes a limited number of label scans and strain comparisons. Terpenology+ removes those limits and adds:

Plans and pricing. Terpenology+ is offered as an annual plan ($59.99 per year) or a monthly plan ($7.99 per month). The current price and any applicable taxes are shown at checkout before you confirm, and the price shown at checkout governs.
Where you buy, and who you buy from. Terpenology+ is sold by Short Point Five LLC and purchased on terpenology.app, not through the Apple App Store. Payment is handled by a third-party payment processor on our behalf. Apple is not a party to your Terpenology+ subscription and is not the seller, and Apple's in-app purchase and refund systems do not apply to it. A subscription provides access to software features within Terpenology. It is not a purchase of cannabis or any cannabis product, and Terpenology does not sell, broker, or facilitate the sale of cannabis.
Automatic renewal. By subscribing to Terpenology+, you expressly authorize Short Point Five LLC to automatically renew your subscription and charge your payment method on a recurring basis until cancellation. Subscription plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the price in effect at the time of renewal, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You expressly agree to these automatic renewal terms by checking the confirmation box before completing your subscription purchase.
Cancellation. Cancellation may be completed through the subscription management portal accessible from your account settings with a single click, or by emailing legal@shortpointfive.com with "CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION" in the subject line. If you attempt to cancel online, you may be presented with a special offer, but a clearly labeled "Click to Cancel" option will always be available alongside any such offer. Upon cancellation, your access to Terpenology+ features will continue through the end of the current billing period, after which your account will revert to the free tier. You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of submitting your cancellation request, confirming that your subscription has been canceled and indicating the date on which your Terpenology+ access will end.
Refunds. Payments are non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period. Because Terpenology+ is not purchased through Apple, refunds cannot be requested through Apple or the App Store.
Price changes. Your subscription will continue at the current rate unless we notify you of a price change at least 15 days but no more than 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the price change becomes effective.
Restoring your subscription. We ask for your email at checkout so you can restore Terpenology+ on another device. To restore, enter that email and the one-time code we send you. You are responsible for maintaining access to the email you subscribe with.
Payment information. Your payment card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, not by us. We receive limited information, such as your email, subscription status, plan, and renewal date, so we can provide and restore your subscription. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You can use Terpenology as a web app at terpenology.app or download it from the Apple App Store. If you download it from the App Store, your use is also subject to Apple's applicable terms, and you acknowledge that:
Terpenology+ subscriptions are not sold through Apple and are not governed by Apple's purchase terms (see Section 8).
All content, design, code, and data in Terpenology, including the Terpenology name and logo, are the property of Short Point Five LLC or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership interest in any of the foregoing.
You retain ownership of the personal data you provide (your health profile, session logs, and notes). See our Privacy Policy for how we handle that data.
Terpenology is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of any strain data, scoring, or community content in the app.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Short Point Five LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Terpenology, including decisions made based on app content.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Short Point Five LLC and its members, officers, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to:
In plain terms: if someone brings a claim against us because of how you used the app, you are responsible for that claim, including the reasonable cost of defending it. This does not apply to the extent a claim arises from our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
We may, at our own expense, assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with us in asserting any available defenses.
If you have a concern, please contact us first at legal@shortpointfive.com. We will try in good faith to resolve any dispute informally within 30 days. If we cannot, the dispute will be handled in the courts identified in Section 15.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms here with a new "Updated" date, and if the changes are material, we will let you know in the app. Continued use of Terpenology after the changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
